The American Center at Sofia City Library marked one year of SnejanaIaneva’spassing with an exhibition, dedicated to her exceptional contribution for the creation and the development of the American Center at the Library.

She loved to attend opera performances in Europe, that is why her colleagues decided to place a bouquet of Bulgarian red roses in front of the Vienna Opera House, Christmas ornaments with a memorial inscription in front of the National Opera of Belgium in Brussels and a small Bulgarian flag and a national ornament given to them by Sneja in front of the Berlin Opera.
The final conference of NAVIGATE – “Information literacy: approaches for education by games for avoiding unauthentic content”, an international project of 4 European Universities, including UniBIT, will be dedicated to the memory Snejana Ianeva, who exceptionally contributed to introducing information technologies in the library practices.
On the occasion of the first anniversary of the unexpected passing of Snejana Ianeva, an eminent scholar and a leader of the librarianship in our country, the BCause Foundation and the Memorial Fund “Snejana Ianeva” publicly announces a second scholarship. It is a donation by Dr. Emilia Ianeva - Professor at the California State University.
The events, organized by the Regional library “Hristo Smirnenski” in Haskovo on the occasion 1-st November – The Day of the National Revival Leaders, are dedicated to the memory of Snejana Ianeva, who inspired, initiated and was instrumental in modernizing librarianship in the country; one genuine contemporary revival leader, who in the course of 30 years gratuitously granted expertise, knowledge and experience to the Bulgarian libraries.
Today, 29-th October 2020 the Regional Library “Geo Milev” in Montana started building a Memorial garden in memory of Snejana Ianeva. The initiative is in the support of the campaign, organized by the Memorial Fund “Snejana Ianeva” and BCause Foundation, and is a gesture of gratitude to the patriotic deeds of Snejana Ianeva, interrupted by her untimely death.
For the eighth consecutive year the regional Library “Zaharii Kniajevski” was a part of the European Programming Week. This is an initiative to the benefit of all citizens and its goal is to represent the programming and the digital literacy to everybody in an amusing and entertaining way.
On the eve of the Day of National Revival Leaders, a memorial plaque in honor of Snejana Ianeva for her lifetime patriotic work in volunteer service to Bulgarian Libraries and Cultural Heritage, was placed at her birthplace home, where her private archive will be collected.
On October 15, 2020, the Bulgarian Library and Information Association posthumously awarded Snejana Ianeva with the annual Lifetime Achievement award (2019) for her outstanding contributions to the development and modernization of Bulgarian libraries from 1990 until her untimely death at the end of 2019.
