In memory of Snejana Ianeva, librarians from the libraries in the Municipality of Samokov gathered in the Municipal Library to pay tribute to her work. Chief Librarian Albena Ihtimanska presented Snejana’ rich biography and emphasized her role as an inspirer and an engine of many significant library campaigns and initiatives, which gave a huge impetus to the development of libraries in Bulgaria. She described with deep nostalgia her memories of the meetings and their work together.
On the occasion of Snejana Ianeva's upcoming birthday, the American Center at Sofia City Library presented a virtual exhibition on its website, expressing gratitude for Sneja's contribution in establishing the center and developing partnerships between Sofia City Library and the US Embassy.

On the eve of commemorating the birth of Snejana Ianeva on March 8th by the Community of Librarians, I am grateful for being invited to participate in the Grand Opening of the Teen HUB. It is a joint project of Sofia City Library, the US Embassy in Bulgaria and many municipal agencies. I saw the fruits of the good and continuous co-operation between the library and the US Embassy, the foundations of which were laid back in 2001 by Snejana Ianeva. Then in 2008 she was the one who inspired and was instrumental in establishing the American Center at Sofia City Librar.
On March 8th, the International Women’s Day, Snejana Ianeva was born – an eminent leader of the development and modernization of library services in Bulgaria. On this occasion from 6-th till 14-th of March the Memorial Fund “Snejana Ianeva” with the support of BCause Foundation marks and celebrates a Memorial Week dedicated to her.
During the week a lot of initiatives are in prospect. With them we aim to preserve the spirit, the inspiration and to continue the efforts of the remarkable leader Snejana Ianeva.

Snejana Ianeva Memorial Fund and BCause Foundation are grateful to everyone, who in the past year, honored Sneja’s work and memory and announce the following awards and donations for 2020.
Dimitrovgrad library “Penio Penev” received a new computer configuration donated by the Memorial Fund “Snejana Ianeva”.
One year turned during the Christmas from the passing of Snejana Ianeva, born in the town of Dimitrovgrad, an honored expert in librarianship with international reputation, declared “an apostle of librarianship in Bulgaria”. She is a descendant of one of the prominent families, whose roots of go back to the the village of Kaiadjik (today’s Dimitrovgrad). Her grandfather Iani Danianov was the first mayor of the village after the liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman Yoke. She is the first of many descendants, who with her deeds, has achieved a world recognition as a Bulgarian scholar and a promoter of our national culture.
On November 1st, Snejana Ianeva’s ancestral home was decorated with a wreath and a message, which reads “In Honor and Recognition of a National Revival Leader”. This act shows the respect and acknowledgement of her modest and at the same time inspiring personality, which makes the town and its citizens proud. She received the acknowledgement as a Bulgarian scholar and an apostle of the librarianship in our country from the professional communities in Bulgaria and worldwide….

On December 21st 2020 the Academic Council of the University in Library Studies and Information Technologies made a decision to plant with an appropriate celebration a memorial tree, a silver pine, in memory of Snejana Ianeva, an eminent leader in librarianship in Bulgaria and an erudite specialist with international prestige.
