The library in Dimitrovgrad, the birth city of Snejana Ianeva, is organizing an essay competition for students from the municipality, ages 13 to 19, on the topic: “My Library of the Future” Three prizes, a tablet and tech accessories will be awarded at the library on Snejana’s birthday, March 8th, the International Women’s Day. It is well known that Snejana envisioned and built the foundations of the libraries of the future in Bulgaria at the start of the century.
The American Center at the National Library in Plovdiv is marking the 70th anniversary from the birth of Snejana Ianeva with a permanent memorial center with her photo, a memorial silver pine planed at its entrance and upcoming activities if the pandemic measures permit.
The sail yacht “Snejana” will participate in the wreath laying memorial ceremony in the waters under Golden Gate Bridge on the second anniversary of the untimely passing of Snejana Ianeva.
In honor of her internationally recognized contributions and in memory of Snejana Ianeva, California State University has established this year an award named after her –Snejana Ianeva Library Research Award.
It will be given for the first time on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of her birth during academic year 2021/2022. The recipient will be a student who has demonstrated excellence in library research skills in an academic paper or project in the Social Sciences.
The Award Committee will present the award taking into consideration the existing pandemic conditions. Possible dates are March 8th, May 11th, and May 24th next year. The place will be one of the university libraries.
This year I had a chance to meet many of you who are in Bulgaria or around the world, using the new methods of communication, reading your inspired contributions to the Memorial site, learning about your initiatives in Sneja’s memory and during the Memorial meeting at the wonderful new Regional Library in Burgas. Thank you for your warm feelings toward Sneja, heartfelt thanks for not only keeping her memory alive, but for continuing to turn her ideas into actions.
This Christmas our family marks the second year without our beloved Sneja with sadness and grief, but the library community marks the 70th anniversary of her birth with optimism, achievements and awards in her name, and plans for the futureshe envisioned for the libraries and worked 30 years tirelessly to achieve.
May the New Year 2022 bring all of you good health, personal happiness, and professional success!

Мемориален фонд „Снежана Янева“ благодари на всички., които заедно с празничните свещи на елхите ще запалят и свещ в памет на Снежа, която загубихме по Коледа през 2019 година.
Снежа беше непоправим оптимист, който работеше за България с ерудиран ум и с горещо сърце, затова много от нейните идеи ще виждаме въплатени не само в настоящето, но и в бъдещето на българската култура и книжовност. Празнично украсените вечно зелени борчета засадени в нейна памет са прекрасно олицетворение на силата и щедростта на нейния дух.

На 11 май 2021 г. Мемориален фонд „Снежана Янева“ оповести наградите, които ще връчи на 8 март 2022 година за едногодишна дейност в памет на Снежана във връзка със 70-годишнината от рождението и (виж статията Честит професионален празник! Награди "Снежана Янева"ТУК).
С решение на Управителния съвет на фондацията от 27 октомври 2021 година ежегодната награда за спомоществовател носи името на Снежана Янева, на чиято инициатива и далновидност се дължи създаването на проекта „Глобални библиотеки“ преди 30 години в сътрудничество с фондация „Бил Гейтс“, както и модернизацията на българските библиотеки и обучението на библиотечните специалисти от фондация „Глобални библиотеки България“, която ръководеше, когато неочакваната и смърт прекъсна нейната забележителна дейност в полза на българската култура.
On the occasion of the Day of National Awakeners, Bulgarians in San Francisco attended “Fidelio” on October 30th, 2021 at the Opera house of the city, dedicating that to Snejana Ianeva and laying flowers in her memory. Snejana’s love for Bulgarian and World Opera was well known. Beethoven’s “Fidelio” is about a brave woman, capable of breaking through the most difficult and dangerous barriers.
