A descendant of a prominent family from Dimitrovgrad shines with her deeds on Earth and from Space
One year turned during the Christmas from the passing of Snejana Ianeva, born in the town of Dimitrovgrad, an honored expert in librarianship with international reputation, declared “an apostle of librarianship in Bulgaria”. She is a descendant of one of the prominent families, whose roots of go back to the the village of Kaiadjik (today’s Dimitrovgrad). Her grandfather Iani Danianov was the first mayor of the village after the liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman Yoke. She is the first of many descendants, who with her deeds, has achieved a world recognition as a Bulgarian scholar and a promoter of our national culture.
On the day of her passing, December 26th 2019, her mother, Valka Ianeva now 92, named a double star in Space in the name of her two daughters, Snejana and Emilia. Emiia Ianeva is now a professor at California State University in the United States. All three women have kept the family name Ianeva out of respect of their roots and family traditions in service to our country and culture.
