Regional library renamed one of its departments

The Regional Library “P.R. Slaveikov” in VelikoTarnovo renamed its specialized department for high-school students and adults. It is called now “Snejana Ianeva”. Snejana Ianeva was an important engine for the librarianship in Bulgaria. In connection with her birthday and in her memory an evergreen tree was planted in the yard of the library-information center “Slaveiche”. 

More than 30 years Snejana Ianeva was a champion for the modernization of the libraries and their development. She supported the career growth of many librarians by organizing library exchange with leading public libraries and library forums in the USA and Europe. She had a her patriotic mission – the Bulgarian libraries to play a significant role in the life of Bulgarians. She raised the prestige of the profession and the prestige of Bulgarian public libraries.
