70th anniversary of the birth of Snezhana Yaneva.

The application of the American, European, and World library experience in our country and its combination with the best Bulgarian traditions was one of the many causes for which Snezhana Yaneva worked tirelessly for the rest of her life as Director of the Information Resource Center (IRC) at the U.S. Embassy in Sofia, and also as Chairman of the Bulgarian Library Association and the Board of Trustees of the Global Libraries Foundation Bulgaria. Therefore, in connection with the 70th anniversary of her birth, the American Corner at the Sofia City Library offers an online exhibition tracing moments in the Bulgarian-American library collaboration, which Snezhana Yaneva was the inspiration for. The exhibition was established in 2012 in connection with the 10th anniversary of the project for the exchange of library experience between Bulgaria and the United States (ABLE), is stored at the American Center in Sofia, and is available at any time for anyone who is interested in the topic.

As Director of the IRC at the US Embassy in Sofia, Snezhana Yaneva has contributed immensely to the establishment and successful operation of American information corners in 17 regional libraries and a university, as well as to the continuing qualification of Bulgarian librarians.

In connection with the anniversary of Snezhana Yaneva, the Sofia City Library will dedicate a library conference on "Innovative American Library Experience", which will be held in May 2022.

Snezhana's case continues!
